Matt Lundquist is a folkslinger with a big Gibson Jumbo acoustic and a few hundred original songs. For the last 30 years he’s been travelin’ to funky little towns and national forests, swapping tunes with beatnik songwriters around the campfire and singing about the joys of simple living. In 2022 he won the John Hartford Memorial Festival Songwriter Contest in an effort to get a free ticket. He has also organized local all star tributes for Hank Williams, Gram Parsons, Waylon Jennings, the Grateful Dead, and Tom Petty.

The Deep Country Trio stringband draws from the deep well of Matt Lundquist folk songs. His tunes are new originals with an old down home sound. For 30 years, Lundquist has been on a slow burn, growing his craft from the highways, porches, forests and backyards of America. Our stringband includes a revolving menagerie of Upright Bass, banjo, fiddle, mando and dobro.
